A few thoughtful notes for homes shared with pets

How are your products pet friendly?

Our products are thoughtfully created for pet-loved homes. We use no essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils, but as with any home fragrance, we recommend using them in a well-ventilated room and allowing pets to leave the area if they choose.

Why don’t you use essential oils?

Many essential oils can be irritating or unsuitable for pets. Instead, we carefully select premium fragrance oils to create beautiful scents without using essential oils.

Can I use your products if I have cats?

Yes, provided they’re used responsibly. We recommend using home fragrance in a well-ventilated space and ensuring your cat can move freely to another room if they prefer.

Can I use your products if I have dogs?

Yes. We advise the same sensible precautions as with any scented product: use in a ventilated room and make sure your dog isn’t confined in the fragranced space.

Will the fragrance be overpowering?

Our products are designed to create a gentle, inviting atmosphere rather than an overwhelming scent. We believe fragrance should complement your home, not dominate it.

Why do you use aluminium instead of glass?

Aluminium is lightweight, durable and endlessly recyclable. It’s less likely to shatter if accidentally knocked, making it a practical choice for busy homes with curious pets and everyday family life.

What does “pet-loved homes” mean?

It means we design our products with real homes in mind, where muddy paws, wagging tails and curious whiskers are all part of everyday life. Our focus is on creating beautiful home fragrance that’s thoughtfully made for homes shared with pets.

Candle Care

Getting the best form your Tawne candle

How should I burn my candles for the first time?

For the best burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first use. This helps prevent tunnelling and encourages a more even burn throughout the life of the candle.

How do I care for a wood wick?

Before each burn, gently remove any loose burnt wood from the wick using your fingers or a dry tissue. Keeping the wick short helps maintain a calmer, cleaner flame.

Why is my candle tunnelling?

Tunnelling can happen when a candle isn’t burned long enough for the wax to fully melt across the top surface. Allowing a full melt pool during each burn helps the candle burn more evenly

Why does my candle look uneven?

Natural wax can sometimes develop slight texture changes or frosting over time. This is completely normal and does not affect the performance of your candle.

How long should I burn my candle for?

We recommend burning your candle for around 2–4 hours at a time. Avoid burning for extended periods and never leave a candle unattended.

Why does scent strength vary?

Scent throw can vary depending on room size, airflow and placement within the home. Some fragrances are naturally softer and designed to sit gently within a space.

Home sprays

Using your Tawne home spray

How should I use my home spray?

Spray lightly into the air throughout your space as desired. A few sprays are often enough to softly refresh a room.

Can I use it on fabrics and linens?

Yes — our home sprays can be used on fabrics and linens. We recommend spraying from a short distance and patch testing delicate materials first.

How long does the scent last?

Scent longevity can vary depending on airflow, room size and surfaces within the home. Softer fragrances may sit more gently within a space.

Where should I store my spray?

Store your spray upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

Why does the fragrance settle?

Natural settling can occur over time. Gently shake before use if needed.

Storage & Reuse

Caring for your Tawne products

How should I store my products?

We recommend storing products upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and radiators.

Can warm weather affect my products?

Natural waxes and fragrance oils can respond to changes in temperature. During warmer weather, candles and sprays should be kept away from direct heat and sunlight where possible.

Can I reuse my Tawne vessels?

Yes — our aluminium vessels are designed to be lightweight, durable and reusable long after your product has been enjoyed.
